AI agents should adapt to the people using them. Not the other way around.
In 2026 it is still inverted. Getting an agent to do useful work means giving up your privacy and your control over your own data. Steer Corp exists to turn that around: you choose the models, local or trusted, and your data stays on devices you control.
What we are building
SteerClaw is a 24x7 private AI staff for small business owners and busy professionals. You tell it what needs to happen in plain English. It works proactively and autonomously in the background, gets things done, sends timely updates, and checks in with you on one-way-door decisions. No prompt engineering. No agent skills or tools to learn.
The first launch is SteerClaw for iPhone and Android, coming soon. The agent runs on your phone and talks directly to the AI model you choose, whether that is a server you run yourself or a provider you hold an API key for. Your chats and files stay on the device. There is no SteerClaw account, and Steer Corp does not host models or relay requests.
On the roadmap, each customer gets an isolated personal computer they own, such as a virtual machine in their own cloud account, running SteerClaw Agent OS. Agent OS assembles agent teams with the right prompts, skills and tools to complete complex, long-running tasks that can take days or months. Agents write any code that is needed. You never see it. This part is in development, not shipped. See the roadmap.
The two products already shipping
Before SteerClaw, we applied the same idea, a capable engine with the person in charge, to a very old domain. Steer Astro is a free app inside ChatGPT that computes a person's Vedic birth chart from real planetary positions using the Swiss Ephemeris and explains it in plain language. The Steer app, listed on Google Play as Steer: AI Coach & Astrologer, brings that engine to a personal companion on Android. Both live at steer.coach.
How we work
- Privacy is the point. You choose the models, ones that run locally on hardware you own or providers you trust, and your data stays on devices you control.
- The product adapts to the person. If a user has to learn prompting or tool configuration, or give up their data, the product is not finished.
- Proactive, with a check-in on one-way doors. Work happens in the background. Irreversible decisions wait for you.
- Say what is shipped. Product status on this site matches what is live in the stores and in ChatGPT today.

At Amazon Alexa AI, Samarth owned the Proactive and Autonomous Agent strategy and managed more than 100 engineers. He is a named inventor on six U.S. patents in proactive AI, autonomous task planning and notification intelligence, including "Proactive Task Planning and Execution" (US 2026/0004778 A1).
He has spent 24 years building production systems at Amazon Alexa, Goldman Sachs, Bluestone.com as VP of Engineering, Dell and Infosys. He holds a B.E. with Honors from NIT Rourkela.
